1941
This
picture was taken in Browning, Illinois, right before the flash flood of
the Illinois River, which came up to our 2nd story house ceiling.
This picture was taken in our front yard. All that was between us
and the Illinois River was railroad tracks and our garden. We moved,
quickly, by picking up Virgel in 1st grade, Browning School, Browning,
Ill. and moved quickly in a small truck to Abingdon, Illinois where our
grandparents Milton and Harriett Elizabeth "Lizzy" Herren
already lived. All I remember is that they lost my doll, in moving.
