The remains of Mrs. Margaret Murphy, who passed away at St. Vincent’s Home for the Aged, Quincy, last Saturday, were brought here Sunday evening for burial. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m., Monday, from St. Mary’s with interment in the Catholic cemetery.
Deceased was born in Ireland in June 11, 1811, and was therefore in the 99th year of her age. She came to the United States fifty-six years ago and made her home in this county up to about 1893, when she became an inmate of St. Vincent’s home.
She is survived by one son and one daughter, Patrick Murphy, who lives in Springfield, and Mrs. John Woods, of Quincy. In addition she leaves nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. When the latter was old enough to be taken to see Mrs.Murphy, a picture was secured showing five generations of the family.
