Last Will and Testament of Shadrach Newnham
Know all men by those present that I Shadrach Newnham of the County of Brown and State of Illinois, being of sound minds, do make and publish this my last will and testament.
First, It is my will and desire that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Nancy during the term of her natural life all my real and personal estate that shall remain after the payment of my debts and funeral expenses.
Third, Upon the decease of my wife it is my will and desire that all my estate both real and personal that shall then remain, shall be sold at public sale upon a credit of twelve months purchasers giving bond with approved security, and that the proceeds thereof be equally divided among my children and heirs at law according to the rules of descent established by the laws of the State of Illinois.
Lastly, I do hereby constitute and appoint my son William Newnham as executor of this my last will and testament. In Testimony where of I, the said Shadrach Newnham have here unto set my hand and affixed my seal this first day of November A.D. 1853.
